Use AI to make the program remember long, thin straws.
When trying to memorize something, it is effective to instruct the AI on the characteristic parts and have it perform deep learning.
By having the AI memorize the shape of the hole on the end of the straw, it will remember that if there is one hole, it will be numbered 1.
Please let the AI memorize various patterns at the stage of memorizing it. The more patterns there are, such as 1 pattern, 10 patterns, 50 patterns, etc., the more accurate deep learning becomes possible.
After deep learning was completed, the 136 straws shown in the photo on the right were displayed, and the 136 straws were instantly counted. -

AI-Detector can determine the presence or absence of a target by making it memorize the target.
The software determines whether there is a hole on the end of the straw that was memorized this time and performs a count.
Since it is possible to judge OK/NG when the specified number of counts is reached, it can also be used for automatic inspection. -

By viewing the end of the straw with a camera, the AI-Detector is able to determine 99% that it is the end of a straw.
(Accuracy may be improved by further deep learning with additional data.)Although the holes in the straws and the gaps between the straws look similar, there were no instances where the gaps were mistakenly recognized and counted.
Only the hole in the straw can be detected and counted.Counting is possible as long as the hole in the straw is visible on the camera, regardless of the fixed position of the target.
It is difficult to count if the target is out of focus or if the target hole is hidden.
